Junior League Softball

In the Junior League Softball state tournament  at Lindsey Wilson College. Valley Sports defeated Red River 14-4. in their first game  Saturday.

with great weather the Junior and Senior League baseball State Tournament got underway at Oldham County High School. Thanks to everyone that hepled make the first day of the tournament a  success.

in the first game, Hazard-Perry took on Beaver Creek and came away with 4-2 win.  For Hazard Perry, Blake Nidiffer and Blake Lockhart combined for eight strikeouts and allowing nine hits..  Barton Whitaker,Blake Nidiffer, Rudy Akeman, and Griffin Wells had base hits.  For Beaver Creek, Wyatt Crisp and Dustin Johnson each had a double and two singles. Seth Hall, Rico Dominguiz and Tanner Hamilton.

 In the second game,  Lewis County  defeated Richmond  15-5.  For Lewis County,  Seth Wallingford had a triple and two singles. Austin Evans had a triple.  Austin Rucker added a double. Trenton Walker had two hits.  Jalen Prater picked up the win  allowing four hits and getting four strikeouts.  For Richmond,  Drake Coomer had a double in the first inning and Tanner Thornsberry added one in the fifth inning.

Senior League Baseball:  South Oldham picked up a win  against Ashland National

 AT Prestonburg  District 2 teams  all won.  Valley Sports 12's  defeated paintsville 18-2, North oldham's 11's came back on Eastern National to win 6-3 and North oldham's 10's stopped Mercer County 10-0.

In Junior Softball Valley Sports defeated Red River.  14-1.

2012 Prestonburg State Baseball Tournament

 The baseball State tournament for 11-12, 10-11, & 9-10 Year olds Nationals will be held in Prestonburg, Ky. starting July 21st   Representing District 2,  for the 11-12year olds - Valley Sports, 10-11 year olds - North Oldham and the 9-10 Year Olds - North Oldham.  game day and times are listed  belowvisit the state website for more information   http://www.eteamz.com/kystatelittleleague

At the State softball tournament in Winchester, ky  wednesday night District 2 teams took losses as their season came to a close.  In the 9-10 Year Olds North Oldham lost to District 5 Marion County 2-1 in the championship game. North Oldham finished with a 2-2 record. In the 11-12 Year olds  Valley Sports lost to District 6 Russell-Flatwoods  21 -10 in the semi-finals.  Valley Sports finished with a 2-2 record.

Big League State Champions

North Laurel Little league won the Big League Baseball state championship by beating North Oldham 10-0 and 13-5.  In the First Game,  North Laurel's marcus carson shutout North Oldham with 9 strikeouts and allowed  3 hits.  Stephen Sears had a two run homer in the fifth inning Trent Abner added solo shot in the sixth.  Ryan Shears and John Evans each had a double. For North Oldham, Nik Gorman had a double and two singles.

In the Second game North Laurel won 13-5.  Stephen Sears(2),Ryan Shears, Tyler Boggs, and Taylor Bowling had doubles.  For North Oldham, Nik Gorman had a double and a single. Jesse Spratt and Mike Murphy each had two hits.
